This will be a good thread if used. I recently collabed with an old school friend on a Poky spanish track. Although it didnt turn out quite how i wanted it, it was a great experience and i learnt alot. He doesnt have much time but when hes next free were hoping to do another track. It helps expand your knowledge and your own style too. Im a bounce producer and he mainly does Poky with a bit of trance every now and again.... Our next project we are gonna try a tune which takes influences from a few different genres.. Were thinkin uk bounce, poky, russian donk and classic scouse. Pretty similar genres i know but without his input i wouldnt even attempt this. We are lucky coz we live close but tbh you dont need to with email etc u can live opposite ends of country. Also it gets your name out there easier. Think of a quirky name and your off (ours is DONKey Punch lol). Anyway im babblin so ill leave yas to it, point is i recommend collabs to even the most advanced producer. Any1 fancies a go id be happy to do one if its somethin i think would work just gimme a shout....
Peace out guys and happy collabing :-D

collabs can be difficult tho, good to do them occasionaly but everything you learn in doing one you can learn just by asking people

ive had a few times were producers have sat on skype and walked me through how to do things

i like your post.

it is good to know that some people actually learn and improve they know how.

you never stop learning that is the beauty of music.

what i like about collabs is bouncing ideas off each other and see how people tackle different situations. also seeing other peoples workflow can let you know if yours can to be improved or give you ideas on different ways to do things.

one of the biggest issues with collabs though can be different specks cas one person could run loads of things and someone could struggle with running only a couple, so you would have to either work in just audio or the person with the better speck pc could finish off the track.

I run a very basic pc at home.

I can do certain things better at work and certain things better at home.

but home pc's never match up to recording studio power...(my own personal experience)

I am trying to make my own music at home but  I am still a novice at this but I love the fact you do not need real expensive set up to do this although a good set up is good it is not real essential at home.

peace.! :D

depends on if you have the time and resources to make your pc just as good at home as it is in studios, my pc now is way faster than the mac i have used at my local studio because ive put the effort in doing it up.

there running a 8 gig mac pro from 2009/10 and i am running a brand new i7 devils canyon 4790k quad core with hyper threading and 32 gigs of  very fast ram  and a r9 290x Amd graphics card with 4 gigs of gddr5 ram.

and duel raid hard drive set up with hybrid solid state drives and Samsung ssds, and have a further solid stae drive and additional hard drive as back up storage.

I have no idea what all that means.

I am not really concerned with i run i am more concerned about it being stable.

the recording studio where i work has had a massive re fit after a fire next door.

there work space has improved and the mastering system is now running 100 percent again.

I would not no One pc system to another.

Maybe that will explain why my HOME pc crashes  aaaahhhhhhhh...

i need to upgrade in the next few weeks, the only problem is what do i buy and how do i know its the right one for the job.

I would not  have a clue where to start I don't go in to that side of tech its not what i do. (maybe i should learn about pc set up)..!!!

ALL HELP IS WELCOME FOR A BETTER SET UP. (HOME USE ONLY).

"noob" statement coming up.. windows xp  DARK 10 final edition.

crappy ram..(to low) to even tell you.lol

crappy hd space..500 gig

4 monitors running.

boot up time FOREVER.

CRASHES 100 milliion times a day.

i do not know if this info means anything to anyone. if not sorry about that.

peace.!

im selling my older set up for 300 quid :P

i5 3570k quad core overclocked to 4.4ghz

8 gigs of ram (corsair vengence ddr3 at 1800 mhz )

ill even throw in a samsung pro solid state drive at 120 gigs for fast boot up

and a z77 motherboard. (asus p8z77 lx has 4 ram sloths usb 3 hdmi and 6 hard drive slots)

oh and my set up is granted overkill but i fucking love it.

to put my system in terms people would understand i have no issues with anything musically (only main one is i run out of mixer channels in fruity loops )

windows boots up in around 3 seconds.

i can play games at there highest quality battlefield 4 etc at resolutions better than hd and with no issues.

and i have enough storage to supply both (around 6000 gigs)
