#48585 Mixing Tip

Posted by RICHIE on 25 July 2017 - 12:00 AM

Sometimes you might find that you've made a track that sounds great on your stereo studio monitors, and then when you come to listen to it on a phone or other sound system it just doesn't sound right.

If you've been mixing your track in stereo you might find that when you play it on a different system the sounds don't sit right. These days a lot of people will be listening to your music on cheaper sound systems like phones, car stereos, in-ear headphones etc so it's best to test your tracks on cheaper systems as well as your studio monitors. To simulate what your track might sound like on a mono system you can turn the stereo separation knob on the master channel to 100% merged. Now you can listen through your track again and see.
